In the fall of 2001 musicians Brandon Cawood and Josh Kral began their musical journey together. Brandon and Josh put together a punk band by the name of "Twice For Tomorrow." Brandon was playing guitar and singing and josh was playing bass and singing. As TFT started to get more and more serious about their music, the need to replace the original drummer came about. The lead guitar play knew a guy by the name of Loy Pelps. This is where Loy comes in. After this TFT continues playing for about a year, but for some reason guitar players never seemed to work out. Finally the band ended. Josh, Brandon, and Loy wanted to continue playing together. Brandon had also decided to put down the guitar and just sing. They needed a new guitar player. They wanted a new sound, new style, and a new band all together. Brandon remembered a guy coming to one of their practices a few months back. He picked up a guitar during one of their breaks, and Brandon was very impressed by him. He got the guys number and gave him a call. He came, he played, and he kicked ass. They offered him the job on the spot. It was now September of 2002, and a new beginning was right around the corner. Todd Middleton(the guitar player) introduced a whole new light in to the other three's music world. All four of the guys were very excited about what they had found together. Everything just seemed to flow so naturally. They could tell that they were meant to be. Now they had a new band, a new sound, and an obvious future together, but they needed a name. After countless hours of trying to find the perfect name, only one seemed to be right. So simple yet so meaning full, "Since September" was the only name that had that special feel to it. The band started practicing every chance they got. Within a month the band had put together a five-song demo. The demo wasn't bad, but it came nowhere close to capturing the live sound that the band was developing. The band played their first show on Nov. 27th at an open mic night at a club in Chattanooga called The Bay. After that show, they were addicted to playing live. With in four months the band opened for a national act by the name of "Hot Action Cop." SS impressed many bands that had been on the Chattanooga scene for years. They were nominated for the CIA(Chattanooga Independent Artist) awards for best new artist. The awards will be in June of 2003. SS's music consist of straight up rock and roll energy, mixed with an emo vibe with hard-core breakdowns, blended with clean clear vocals that turn in to passionate screams. They sing about heartache, relationships, life trials and tribulations, staying true to one's self, and life in general, but no matter how negative the situation, every song takes a positive outlook on it. Brandon tries to connect with his audience through is stage show and let them feel the pain and other emotions that he went through to inspire his lyrics. Since September definitely plans on making a career at what they do, and they will take every chance that comes there way to get them there. As long as one person is moved by their music, they have accomplished their what they have set out to do. There is nothing like changing the world doing something you love to do. "The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man." -George Bernard Shaw | ![]() | ![]() |
